How to prevent double booking of flats and shops
How double booking happens
Two executives work from different copies of the inventory sheet. One books a flat, the other has not refreshed and promises it to a second buyer.
Use one live source of truth
Keep inventory in a single system that everyone sees in real time. A unit that is booked or on hold should be unavailable instantly.
Hold units deliberately
Allow a short, visible hold while a buyer decides, with an expiry and a name against it. Freeze units that are not for sale.
Audit regularly
Reconcile bookings against the inventory each week. Any unit showing as both available and booked is a signal your process leaks.
